Political Science Student Union of Chulalongkorn University

Academic Year 2020

The new dawn of the Student Union in the University, this was not just an ordinary change, but a significant reform – that made and re-designed for the society as a whole which including 6th Oct 1976 political movement figures to the gentrification affected locals, all were included, led by Netiwit Chotiphatphaisal as the President.

The University Affairs encouraged collaborations between faculties and organisations which were to support relationships amongst students and people.

Academic Year 2021

The Internal Affairs had strengthened the solidarity of people within the faculty and community around the university. The possibilities of changes were made in 2020. In 2021, it was another challenging time for all of the student activities – long-term lockdowns, activity restrictions, online based events, which were leading to another struggle of activities and student's mental health state.

Academic Year 2022

President of the Student Union: The better changes with aims to make the Faculty, the University, and the local communities that work together for not just the privileged few, but for the many – the people.

We still maintained and developed the political engagement to be accessible and understandable for all – outstanding active during the political crisis in the country.

Sam Yan Group and Furthermore...

Sam Yan Press

The Publishing House (Nisit Sam Yan Co., Ltd.) as a social enterprise has aimed to promote democracy and social activism in Thailand, along with the values of the local community through the translation of thoughts and ideas, and publishing them for readers.

Assembly of Singhdam

The student movement organisation has engaged with political and social organisations, especially local communities around the university. Student activism and leadership are to succeed in world democracy.

Youth Coordinators for Change

Youth Coordinators for Change is an organisation working with students at Chulalongkorn University to design and create the learning process and workshop on democracy, equality and human rights.

Welcoming the Rainbow

Welcoming The Rainbow is a special book project to translate the Buddhist text from Rainbodhi. The content is to promote the LGBTQIA+ community to be heard and treated equally in Thai Buddhist society. This project lasts for more than one year powered by Sam Yan Press.

Write to Raise

Write to Raise was an independent student organisation that aims to write and organise activities to raise awareness of social issues. The organisation was working with a local community to voice the people's oppressed problems to be heard and solved.

Singharatsadon Party

Singharatsadon Party is the student party formed for campaigning and running for the election of the student union. Our vision is to make the student union a medium working side by side with the people for the local community and democracy on the national and international stage.

The Student Union on behalf of students of Chulalongkorn University with visions to engage students with the society and people around the university.

Student Front for Rights and Freedom

The Student Front for Rights and Freedom was a temporary organisation formed to campaign and promote student's rights and freedom of dressing and against the university's regulation that enforces students to only wear assigned uniforms.

Assembly for Human Rights

The Assembly for Human Rights of Chulalongkorn University was found with the aims to promote human rights as a mainstream agenda both in local and international stage and to connect with other human rights clubs across the country to learn and campaign together.
