Political Science Student Union of Chulalongkorn University (Academic Year 2022)
Since we have done campaging about democracy, human rights, and freedom of expression. Our student union had collaborated with Amnesty International Thailand to show our strong solidarity and support to those who have fought against tyranny for their democracy and fundamental human rights, including to remember the 1989 Tiananmen Square Massacre in Beijing as the example of how the authoritarian regime can and will do to suppress people and to maintain their power.
Participants laid the flowers and wreath, and Krittapas as the President of the Political Science Student Union of Chulalongkorn University (PSCU) spoke the joint statement between the student union and the Department of Humanitarian and Human Rights Affairs of the Student Government on the Anniversary of the 1989 Tiananmen Square Massacre.

Flowers laid in front of the portrait of Somdet Wirunhapol for remembrance of his lost
Remembering 6th Oct Massacre and 14th Oct Uprising was the event I proposed in the student union to hold as an internal event due to COVID-19 pandemic and the university's regulations that restricted holding events physically.
We aimed to maintain the awareness, pain, and lesson learnt from the 6 October 1976 (aka Thammasat University Massacre) and 14 October 1973 Student Uprising. We have lost students from this event such as Wichitchai Amonkun, and Somdet Wirunhapon.

The state crime that happened just near Chulalongkorn University and affected many of our loved ones was the May '53 Massacre. On 10 April and 13–19 May 2010, the Thai military cracked down on the United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD), that caused almost a hundred have lost their lives and more than 2,000 people had injured. Until now, the state crime run by the Royal Thai Army and associated Royal Thai Government security forces is still not yet guilty and those who have lost their lives or injured are still waiting and demanding for their justices.
The student unions had organised this event to remember what had happened and what lies in the Thai political system for a decade, and we have demanded for justices to return to those who affected, to fellow Red Shirts, and for the people.

In Pride Month, we dedicated to celebrate and share our pride and love to each other, especially to show diversity and how genders can be fully accepted and treated equally. My friends and I were organising this to promote gender equality and being accepted with no discrimination or religion bias, as well as the marriage equality and state recognition. Moreover, this specified that even in the Buddhist society should be no bias or discrimination against LGBTQ+, because the current society used religion creating hate against each other, rather than love, because of bias and misunderstanding.
We promote the core value of religion that supports LGBTQ+ community and demand Thai society to stand against hates and stand protect love.

Taiwan is the first country in Asia to legalise same-sex marriage. This success has been praised worldwide. The journey, of course, has many challenging and there are something Thailand can learn about. In Thailand, there were the issues of “Marriage Equality Bill” and the “Civil Partnership Bill” which purposed by the conservatives to tame resistance from civil society. The rights guaranteed by Civil Partnership Bill are still unequal to the heterosexual marriage bill. This event had discussed the fighting journey, the challenge, and the recognition of genders in current society.

This was a special event sharing, discussing, and exchanging thoughts and experiences about fighting for democracy and the struggles and challenges of social movements in two countries – Taiwan and Thailand. Both countries are well known about fighting against tyranny for democratic country, which Taiwan has succeeded in recent years – such as, the Sunflower Movement. Additionally, Thailand in this period was in the age of demanding and protesting against Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha Regime as well.
This event was censored by the faculty's administration. So, this event had to move to fully online event and used Sam Yan Press' office as the broadcasting place.

Ms. Houayheuang Xayabouly, also known as Muay, is a Lao tour guide and shop owner. Most importantly, she is also an environmental activist and woman human rights defender. She has contributed so much to protect for the rights of the Lao people, by highlighting the harms caused from business activities and corruption, and as the result, she was faced by the prison sentence by the Lao Government as she criticised the Government.
The event was expected to be a panel talk and exhibition about Muay and her fighting journey, and also the session that Manushya Foundation will hand the open letter to the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention.
However, this event was suspended by the Faculty of Political Science's Administration with the claims that this event may affect to the national security and international relations.

During the election, amid the tons of datas and news, sometimes information has been used to be a weapon against the rival. As in 2020 Taiwan Presidential Election, there were many reports indicates that there were some fake news and flase informations used against each other significantly, and at that time it was about 2023 Thailand General Election. So, we had organised this event to share, discuss, and exchange thoughts about Taiwan and Thailand's media's views.
In this event: (Speakers) Heng-Yu Chien, Wongpun Amarinthewa, (Moderator) Krittapas Chedjaroenrat
As in Thailand, the university and school have still enforced students to wear an institution's dress code or uniforms and will deducted or punished students who do not follow. So does Chulalongkorn University, in my term in the PSCU, I had formed the Subcommittee to protect and promote student's rights to wear whatever-they-want to wear to university, especially during the examination time.
We also made some public polls for student's opinions about this regulation, almost every student are not pleased with the enforcement, and many of them will strike by wearing whatever-they-want to go having a test in final exam dates.
On 14 May 2023 will be the significant day of all Thais, it is a general election day! So that, I had formed that special team for running the campaign raising more awareness and reminding friends and people nearby not to forget to cast their votes on 14 May 2023.
Also, I have submitted the open letter to the Dean asking for the university to cancel or postpone classes or examination that take place during the election dates, such as 7 May 2023 (for those who will cast votes in advance), 13-15 May 2023 (for those who will travel back to hometown casting their votes).
The Association was founded through the collaboration of many groups of students such as the PSCU, the SGCU, and student parties in the University who all agree in the same way that the University should no longer enforce the dress code rules.
We had done some campaigns and support for students across the University and publicly submitted an open letter to the President of the University and the Chairperson of the University Council to consider the withdrawal or amendment of the rules. This action aims to the University no longer force students to wear a uniform or strict dress code.
The PSCU and Sam Yan Press had supported Write to Raise to organise Chula Walk Workshop which is the activity to lead the simulation of using guiding stick and wheelchair by an invited guest. This was an aim of the workshop to understand how disabled people have been treated currently as a disabled that mainly because of the structural design in our daily life.
The team had also checked and found that many places in the University are not accessible and not designed universally to really support those in needs, some of them even not legally designed according to related laws.
Since the Faculty issued a guideline for new freshmen students to join the Faculty's orientation to following the University's Dress Code, as our stance in the Student Union, we held values of freedom and rights to one's own body. Therefore, with the rights and authority of the Student Union, I handed an open letter asking the Dean to reconsider the guidelines of the orientation and open a creative and free space for the new students by NOT enforcing any rules or guidelines regarding student attire.

Netiwit, the former president of the Chulalongkorn University Student Union, once invited political activists to give an inspiration to new students in 2021 Freshmen Orientation, causing him to be unfairly removed from his position, because of moral charges. Netiwit later appealed this matter and be received by the University's Law and Legal Centre, but there was no sign of clarification. As our Student Union, we take into account the rights, freedom, and justice of all students. Therefore, I had sent the follow-up letter to the University's Law and Legal Centre.
Dated: 29 September 2565 BE (2022)
The projects and activities had been blocked by the Faculty's student oversee committee – with some accusation such as: the activity may violate the university's land development plan, or the activity may cause an effect to the international relations. So, we insist our stance and our chance to the activity, and proposed, by letter, that we must be able to join in the committee's meeting to defend our projects and activities. This is to ensure inclusiveness, transparency, and accountability which all based on democracy value.
Dated: 11 November 2565 BE (2022)
It appeared viral that the new crowned chair of the alumni association who is new inaugurated the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, insulted discriminately and aggressively against his staff in a meeting. We, the Student Union, had a standpoint and refused the abuse of power and inappropriate action against staffs. Therefore, we issued the open letter to chair of the alumni association to consider his action which was not follow to the Faculty's core value which is to serve the people, to resign as his responsible.
Dated: 30 December 2565 BE (2022)
Since the follow-up letter of Netiwit's case – PSCU 01-01-014/2565 dated 29 September 2565 BE (2022) still had no responsive from the authority, and the time past for 13 months since injustice occured. I sent another follow-up letter to ensure the justice be served as soon as possible.
Dated: 13 March 2566 BE (2023)
As the Election Commission of Thailand annouced the general election day, we kindly asked the faculty to consider no class or exam on and in a day before and after the election day. This is to facilitate students to go back home to cast their votes with less interruptions.
Dated: 28 March 2566 BE (2023)
Bangkok was reportedly a harzardeous air quality zone for a period of time, we kindly asked the faculty, by the open letter, to prioritise student's health and well-being and to ask lectures and classes to be online instead if possible – this is to reduce the health effect from the bad weather condition.
Dated: 7 April 2566 BE (2023)
After the general election outcome has announced, it appeared that Move Forward Party won with most seats in the House of Representatives, but because of the junta's constitution required that Prime Minister must be selected from both Upper and Lower House, and the Senate was all appointed by the junta, some of them are the faculty alumni. Therefore, on behalf of all students, I kindly asked, by the open letter, to the Senators who are our faculty alumni to follow the people's consensus by the election of the Representatives, vote Pita, the candidate from Move Forward Party to be the next Prime Minister of Thailand.
